![]() Tony Bradshaw: What got you started in the wrestling industry? Jonathan Storm: I kept watching the wrestler's on TV. Guys like Ricky Steamboat, Randy Savage, and then Jushin Liger and Chris Benoit, and I knew that's what I wanted to do. Tony Bradshaw: If you were given the opportunity, what would you do with your life? Jonathan Storm: I'd probably be working at a radio station in Anaheim or something like that. Maybe even go for my master's degree. Tony Bradshaw: What was your first impression of the HWF? Jonathan Storm: Good place to work, even better workers, but all so one-dimensional! I can sing, I can act, and I can even perform just as well in other sports. Tony Bradshaw: Do you have any secret talents or little things that you can do? Jonathan Storm: I'm a really good writer, not to mention a baseball player. I was drafted out of college by the Texas Rangers, but I decided to go to Japan with my brother. Tony Bradshaw: Okay, you have the chance to wrestle ANYONE in history, it doesn't even have to be a wrestler, who would it be and most importantly why? Jonathan Storm: I'd have to wrestle Perry Saturn. He always stopped by to visit Dean and Chris during my training, but I never got to face him. Tony Bradshaw: Do you like the prospect of "Hardcore" in wrestling? Or do you think Hardcore is basically a easy way to get over and doesn't involve any real talent? Jonathan Storm: HARDCORE???!!! (At this point, Jonathan Storm goes into a huge tirade about the stupidity of Hardcore in professional wrestling. Casey "Sunshine" Band walks to the microphone, and in his place answers the following.) ... My client would like to state at the moment that he is anti-hardcore. Tony Bradshaw: Do you have any idols you'd love to meet? Jonathan Storm: I've always wanted to meet Bret Hart. I love his work, and I'd even like to meet Al Pacino. I know almost the whole monologue from the last half hour of "The Devil's Advocate", so I'd like to perform that scene with him...he's a fucking acting God. Him and Kevin Spacey. Tony Bradshaw: How long have you been wrestling and training for? Jonathan Storm: I started when I was a senior in High School, at the age of 17, and made my pro debut on my 18th birthday in a Calgary Stampede show. I've been in Japan since the fall of 1999, and Ashlee and I came here. We got on with a good company, and since then, the word's been out on me. Tony Bradshaw: Have you ever done anything that has changed your life, or made you reconsider what you were doing to the point of stopping it? Jonathan Storm: Well, my brother Robbie recently passed away in Japan, after a botched spot during a ladder match, so I guess I have some fear of actually performing in those. I know I'll get over it, but Robbie was such a huge influence on me. People don't often understand that, because much older brothers have that effect. Robbie was only two years older than I. Tony Bradshaw: Do you ever dwell on the past? Jonathan Storm: Not really. Why bother to do so? You can't change what already happened, right? So I guess it's just about letting things happen.
Tony Bradshaw: What is your favorite genre of music, and why? Jonathan Storm: When I'm just trying to relax at home, it's sort of modern rock, Vertical Horizon, Counting Crows, s*it like that. Prior to matches, I'm psyching myself up with something like The Prodigy, Deftones, or I'll pop in my old theme song, "Redefine" by Incubus. I got to know Brandon from Incubus and Chino Moreno from Deftones pretty well. They're from the Southern California area. Tony Bradshaw: Who is your favorite musical artist/band, and why? Jonathan Storm: I would say right now, it's 3 Doors Down, or Incubus. I would have to add VAST to the list too. I recently saw them play in Chicago, and they were excellent. Tony Bradshaw: What CD's in your collection are hitting your ears currently? Jonathan Storm: 3 Doors Down's "The Better Life", Incubus' "Dysfunction", and of course, my first ever CD "The Perfect Storm" Tony Bradshaw: Who is your favorite wrestler, living or dead, and why? Jonathan Storm: Myself, Dean Malenko, or Chris Benoit. We're all from the same mold, and I just add my own flavor, to keep myself fresh and on top of the charts. Tony Bradshaw: What is your favorite genre of film, and why? Jonathan Storm: Drama or Horror. I've read for plenty of dramas, and I even had two guest shots on VIP. Tony Bradshaw: Who is your favorite actress/actor, and why? Jonathan Storm: Actor would be Kevin Spacey, and actress would be Mena Suvari. I was hooked on both of them after "American Beauty". Tony Bradshaw: What are your favorite types of videogames? Jonathan Storm: I like RPG's and wrestling games, in addition to baseball games. Tony Bradshaw: What games have you been playing recently? Jonathan Storm: Smackdown 2 and MLB 2001. Both are great games. Tony Bradshaw: What is your favorite author/book? Jonathan Storm: "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon" by Stephen King or "A Clockwork Orange", and I forget who wrote that. Tony Bradshaw: What is your favorite food? Jonathan Storm: I like a good steak, and Ashlee can cook a good one. She minored in Food Preparation at USC, and majored in Marketing. Tony Bradshaw: What is your favorite color? Jonathan Storm: Blue...definitely Blue. Tony Bradshaw: What hand do you whipe your ass with? Jonathan Storm: (Storm gets up and walks away, heading for the washroom. Casey Band then approaches the microphone once more.)... You probably think that he's going to check, but in all actuality that means this interview is over. Any more questions must be submitted in writing two weeks in advance.
